GNOME-India is an India wide effort, spanning from Kashmir in the north
to Kanyakumari in the south. However, with so large an effort, interaction
between the various GNOME enthusiasts and volunteers is restricted to
mailing list and IRC channels.
For a more personal kind of interaction there are local level region
specific user groups which hold regular face-to-face meetings, along
with local events dealing with GNOME. Below is a list of the active
GNOME Users' Groups in India. If you know of any other such group which
is not enlisted here, please let us know.
And if your city/town doesn't have a GNOME Users Group, feel free to
form one yourself. Let us know when you have done so, we will add your
group to the list below.
User Group in the southern city of Bangalore. Home/workplace of a large number of talented upcoming GNOME hackers. GNOME Bangalore has an active website of its own, and a mailing list was also recently announced. You can meet the members of GNOME Bangalore in the channel #bangalore at irc.gnome.org. They also provide CDs with source code of GNOME, OpenOffice.org and Mono.
